Doctor Faustus 1.1 (2)




The Good and Evil Angels appear and attempt to dissuade Faustus from his desire to practise magic. Faustus tells himself of the riches he will gain through necromancy, and his ambition is supported by Cornelius and Valdes, friends and scholars from university. The scene ends with Faustus promising to conjure, “though I die therefore”.
