Greek Myths – Acrostic Poems

My daughter Athena was born after I was
Eaten by Zeus. I should not have
Turned myself into a fly; something
I regret deeply. But Athena was born and Zeus had his head
Split open. Serves him right!

Phenomenally generous, I could not
Resist giving fire to man.
Ordinarily, it wouldn’t have been a problem, but
My boss, Zeus, wasn’t keen on them
Eating cooked food.
That seemed a bit
Harsh to me, so I used a fennel stalk to
Extract the flame from Helios’s chariot.
Unbelievable. Now I’m chained to a rock, with an eagle
Scoffing my liver.
