Romeo speaks to Juliet on her balcony. She thinks she is alone and talks of how much she loves Romeo. She sees their family feud as irrelevant. She asks R if he loves her as she does he. They exchange vows of love. J says she will send a messenger to R the following day with a time and place when they can be married.
“But soft, what light through yonder window breaks?”
“Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.”
“Goodnight, goodnight. Parting is such sweet sorrow…”
