Romeo, Mercutio, Benvolio, Horatio

The gist
Romeo and his friends attend the Capulets’ party without invitations (they are wearing masks and hope they won’t be discovered). Romeo is unhappy that his love is unrequited. Mercutio unsuccessfully tries to improve his mood with jokes. Romeo believes something bad is about to happen.

“…my mind misgives// Some consequence, yet hanging in the stars,// Shall bitterly begin his fearful date// With this night’s revels…”
